The Sheriff’s Office must increase its presence in the rural areas of the county. Several high-

ranking positions within the Sheriff’s Office will be restructured. As a result, we will reallocate

the salaries of these specific members of rank to fund the training and hiring of sworn patrol

deputies.

I am committed to retaining sworn, detention, and civilian personnel who contribute to the

betterment of the Sheriff's Office and the community.

Recruitment will give priority to candidates with previous experience in law enforcement, the

military, and educational qualifications, while still taking into account a person’s diverse

background and experiences.

Training programs will be available to both law enforcement and detention personnel, focusing

on leadership, community engagement, mental health, wellness, and de-escalation.
